Can I receive a treatment with a cold sore?

No. Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV) and are highly contagious. They typically appear as blister-like lesions around the lips or mouth and may spread to other areas of the face. For your safety and the safety of others, appointments must be rescheduled until the lesion has fully healed.

Stimulating treatments, such as chemical peels and microneedling, may trigger a cold sore. If you have a history of cold sores, it is required that you begin an antiviral medication prior to these treatments. Please note this in the designated area of your consent form so Kendall can create a safe and appropriate treatment plan for you.

Can I receive a treatment with a spray tan/ self tanner?

It is recommended that you avoid spray tans or self tanners on the treatment area for at least two weeks prior to your appointment. These products temporarily alter the skin’s color, which can interfere with accurately assessing your skin phototype during your skin analysis. Proper assessment is essential for creating a safe and effective treatment plan and minimizing risks related to pigmentation or scarring. If you are scheduled for SkinPen® Microneedling or The Perfect Derma™ Peel, spray tans and self tanners must be discontinued three to four weeks prior to treatment.

How do I prep my skin before my treatment?

Please avoid excessive sun exposure to the treatment area, as services cannot be performed on actively sunburned skin. Accutane must be discontinued for at least 6-months prior to receiving any skin treatments. If you are using prescription retinoids, please stop use 5-days before your appointment. If you have received botox injections, please ensure that they are completed 2-weeks prior facials. Filler injections must be completed at least 4-weeks prior to microneedling treatments. For advanced treatments such as The Perfect Derma™ Peel or SkinPen® Microneedling, you will receive specific pre-care instructions tailored to your service.

How do I care for my skin after my treatment?

After your treatment, it is recommended that you avoid working out or excessive sweating for the remainder of the day, though you are welcome to exercise beforehand. Protect the treated area from sun exposure, and plan to use clean pillowcases and facial towels post-treatment.

For advanced treatments such as The Perfect Derma™ Peel and SkinPen® Microneedling, you will receive specific post-care instructions tailored to your service.
